This page will contain information about my upcoming public art classes. Public Art Classes may be at different locations throughout Ashtabula County & Northeast Ohio so please look at the class descriptions to see locations and registration information.
Some classes are for children and some classes are adult only, or are offered for both children and adults. Parents/Guardians are always welcome to stay during kids classes.
A few notes on registering for public classes:
Please make note of the location & time of the class you wish to attend. I offer classes at multiple different locations throughout Northeast Ohio and each location has different registration guidelines.
Please note that I DO NOT handle registration for ANY of my classes. Messaging/emailing/commenting to me specifically does NOT count as registering for a class, you must register as directed in the specific class descriptions through the venues that classes are offered at.
Please do not wait until last minute to sign up for classes you wish to take. Seating is generally limited in most classes. Also, if there is not enough sign ups to conduct a class within a few days of the class beginning, the class is usually cancelled or postponed.
Walk ins are generally not permitted in my classes unless specified. If you are not registered for class prior to the day of class, there will not be an open seat set up for you. I only set up for the number of registered participants. You will most likely not be able to participate UNLESS open seats are available due to no-shows AND I have enough supplies.
If you register for a class that you cannot attend or no longer wish to take, please contact the venue of where the class is being hosted for a refund. Each venue has different policies on timelines for refunds. If you register for a class and do not show up without attempting to contact the venue either via phone call, voicemail, email, social media, etc., you WILL NOT receive a refund for the class.

Join Day Dream Farm Winery for this fun and hilarious painting experience painting your partner! Bring your significant other, friend, family member, etc. and paint a live picture of each other! Artist Chris Davis will be present to give some general tips, advice, and assist with paint colors but each person will be doing their own painting, just their own skill and interpretation! Participants may use their choice of colors and make their artwork as crazy as they wish and do it how they wish! Each pair will be facing each other, unable to see each other's artwork until the end, final reveal! All supplies for the painting are provided, including 8x10 canvas.
Your first drink is also provided with the ticket to the event and a food truck will be present!

Date: Friday July 31, 2026 at 6:00-9:00pm
Ages: 18+ (21 to drink) (teenagers ages 13+ are able to take the class if accompanied by a responsible adult who is also taking the class). Please note that this class is designed for adults.

*Please note this is NOT a portrait painting class with specific guidance or tutorials. However, Chris Davis will give some general portrait advice but will NOT help anyone draw/paint their images, as it is up to each person's individual interpretation. This is meant to be a lighthearted fun experience

***INTRODUCTORY COLOR THEORY FOR ADULTS: PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND NEUTRAL COLORS*** -- (Part 1: Creating a Color Wheel)
Join Instructor Chris Davis for this two-day Acrylic Painting course covering the basics of color theory, using primary, secondary, and neutral colors to create a custom color wheel painting.
For this class, Chris will demonstrate how to use primary colors to create secondary colors and how the addition of neutral colors can achieve different tones within a painting. Each participant will be creating a color wheel of whatever image they would like (such as the turtle color wheel pictured). There will also be a basic sketching tutorial at the beginning of class as each participant will be sketching whatever image they'd like their color wheel to be.
All supplies for this class are provided. This is a beginner friendly class, no prior experience required. Participants are encouraged to bring photos to class of a simple object or line drawing they'd like to make their color wheel (like the color wheel turtle shown in the photo).
Dates: Thursdays July 30 & August 6, 2026 at 6pm-8pm (some sessions may go slightly over time)
Ages: 18+ (Children age 8+ are able to take the class if accompanied by a responsible adult who is also taking the class).

***SIP & PAINT AT THE GRAND RIVER MANOR***
Join The Grand River Manor for this ocean sunset themed painting class! Instructor Chris Davis will guide participants step by step through the entire painting! This painting is fully customizable and participants may use their choice of colors and compose their picture however they'd like.
All supplies for the painting are provided, including 11x14 canvas.
Drinks and food may be purchased before, during, and after class.
*No outside drinks or food permitted
Date: Wednesday August 19, 2026. Class begins at 6:30pm and will end around 8-9pm
Ages: 18+ (21 to drink) (Teenagers under the age of 18 are able to take the class if accompanied by a responsible adult who is also taking the class).

***INTRODUCTORY COLOR THEORY FOR ADULTS: PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND NEUTRAL COLORS*** -- (Part 2: Monochromatic Painting)
Join Instructor Chris Davis for the second part of Introductory Color Theory. This session is a three-day Acrylic Painting course covering the basics of monochrome color theory, using one main single color and using the addition of neutral colors to create a monochromatic painting.
For this class, Chris will demonstrate how to use the neutral colors with one main color to create different tones and shades of that color for a full painting. For the first day, Chris will walk participants step by step through a simple monochromatic painting and participants will follow along. For the second and third session, participants will create their own monochromatic paintings and Chris Davis will assist where needed. By the end of this course, each participant will have two complete paintings.
All supplies for this class are provided. This is a beginner friendly class, no prior experience required. Participants are encouraged to bring photos to class of what they'd like to paint for the final sessions of the course.
*It is recommended to take Part 1 of the Introductory Color Theory Class creating a color wheel before this course, but it is NOT required to take this course. This is still a beginner level course.
